A cable news channel recently aired coverage of an article (“The Dangerous and Frightening Disappearance of the Nuclear Deterrence Expert”) published by Politico magazine as a news topic labeled: “Human Extinction”
Regardless of the source or the author of the article, the idea that nuclear weapons developed by Oppenheimer and associates back during World war II and the fact that present day attention to nuclear weapons as returning to a real threat to life on the planet, there is another perspective not highlighted in the article.
WindowView, when looked at across the main areas does include the potential to see a convergence of topics to one potential conclusion. Science, Change, Harmony, Timeline all lead to Convergence—all perspectives lead to a horizon in the future. What needs to be highlighted here is that biblical prophecy outlines an end time scenario. Nuclear weapons might cause the extinction of humans, especially if the main nuclear weapon holders release multiple warheads all within a short time. Even one smaller country like North Korea could initiate a domino effect, a series of events, leading to massive global death and destruction. The Politico article addresses people today and a lack of checks and balances that would prevent such a scenario.
However, human extinction is going to occur if you parse out the true nature of what biblical prophesy says will come in due time. Bible readers who study the details are informed that a population of the faithful community (Gk: ‘ekklesia’ as in group of believing) will be lifted up from the planet’s surface. This leaves a planet with non-believing persons, some of which will be alarmed into realizing what just happened. You can buy and read a book entitled “After the Rapture,” which is written as if you were a person left on Earth once the uplifting event has concluded.
The "extinction event" for all remaining and rebellious humanity follows. Initially if you read the chronology of events that are projected to occur, this is more than global human activity, more than climate change, more than wars and hostilities, the real thrust of what is to come is judgment from the One who, in the first place, gave all humans life.
Articles and news coverage online or television may well have importance, but to look at human behaviors and what Scripture says is about to happen, that is missed so often by so many. And the many will be the ones left behind to encounter the brunt of judgment yet to come. This really does extinguish many humans and in one sense is extinction of humans on the present Earth.
You have the opportunity now, before the final scenario unfolds, to awaken, to study, and realize that what you see in human behaviors and news reports today … all this blends right into what the biblical text has already outlined.
