Evidence for Design in Cells

Questions:

Short Answer:

Evidence for complexity and indications that all cells—from a single cell bacterium to cells inside of your body—are a product of design is evidence that has undergone a dramatic increase in the recent decades.

How information exists in a cell, how complex that information is, and how there is no random or chance process that could ever account for how that came into existence.

Molecular machines, such as ATPsynthase or topoisomerase, function in highly effective ways, but that there is no explanation for these arising slowly over time to achieve the irreducible complex structures.

Consider This:

Darwin's theory implies a first form of life would be a universal ancestor that then evolved stepwise from one form to more complex forms and to all life foms over time. That universal ancestor might have been a single cell. However, today a look at a cell in plant or animal reveals something Darwin could have never seen in his time. Take a look at a quotation for a book by Dr. Michael Denton who is a British-Australian biochemist. This book published in 1986 examined a number of facets of what many in science consider as support for Darwinian evolution. This text still holds valid points that counter the general theory on evolution, and regarding cells Dr. Denton notes:

“Protein molecules are the ultimate stuff of life. If we think of the cell as being analogous to a factory, then the proteins can be thought of as analogous to the machines on the factory floor which carry out individually or in groups all the essential activities on which the life of the cell depends. Each protein is a sort of micro-miniaturized machine, so small that it must be magnified a million times before it is visible to the human eye. The structure and functioning of these fascinating work horses of the cell was a complete mystery until the 1950s.” (Evolution: A Theory in Crisis; Page 234)

That was stated in 1986, but from that point onward and from other structural evidence for what is in cells (as in electron microscope views of cell ultrastructure)

Another facet to cell design needs recognition when looking at how cells come together in a body to be an organ and that one type of organ—such as kidney, liver, lung—with other organs are all functioning together with an incredible amount of coordination and fine tuned function. This awareness brings forward an awareness that life exhibits stucture and functions that is a product of engineering—a product of design! Two authors, Steve Laufmann abnd Dr. Howard Glicksman, support this notion in their book "Your Designed Body."
