No where in the Bible does it tell humanity to be political-centric. No where should a person be called evangelical if they do not understand what the biblical text states. Acting and thinking contrary to God’s Word is in the Christian and even Jewish biblical sense non-believing and focused on everything but what God’s Spirit reveals.
There is a politician who has campaign rallies. Each rally starts with a pastor and a prayer. Oh, so that is a biblical rally? That seems almost biblical. Then the candidate takes over and the focus is not on the nation, care for other people, but essentially only self. And the statements come out with anger, accusations and false claims.
People who say they are evangelical apparently cheer on the lies and complaints by the candidate.
BUT, are those attending the rally were really evangelical? If yes, then they would understand how to filter what is stated to them. Read the Book of Mark and this reveals the true nature of the person who speaks and how God considers the reality of the speech and the candidate himself:
Mark 7: 18-23: “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?” And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
The label ‘evangelical’ is empty and meaningless for persons who do not pay attention to the Lord and God’s Word. Even non-religious persons can see that a man condemns himself by awful statements issued from the mouth.
Do you respect the truth be it from a biblical or even a common sense perspective? Or do you support anger, lies, deceptions, and self-centered campaigns?
Perhaps this is worth some added thought and see the reality and truth in life.
